Mirror Shopper Tote Bag pattern inspiration
I like big bags and I cannot lie, and when I was accepted to take part in the first Crochet Foundry Blog Hop I wanted to create something that was an easy to make project, but also something that I love and although I chose my colours with the idea for a scarf in mind, when they arrived the idea for the Mirror Stitch Shopper free easy crochet shopper tote bag was born!
Easy crochet tote bag pattern yarn & materials
To create my easy free crochet shopper tote bag pattern I used Wander Acrylic from Furls crochet in the shades Laguna, Alabaster and Amethyst. The rich teal of this yarn was my favourite along with the Amethyst. Wander is a 100% acrylic yarn that comes in 100g, 109m/120yd bullet skeins for £5.00 per skein. To find out more about this yarn, check out my review post here.
Crochet shopper tote pattern info & tips
I used my 5.5mm Furls Streamline Resin Hook in Taurus to make my crochet tote bag and although gauge isn’t super important I would say if you are using the same yarn to make this bag unless your are wildly off, stick to this as your smallest hook size.
The Mirror Stitch Shopper easy free crochet shopper tote bag includes a simple striped pattern featuring the mirror stitch. This easy repeating stitch pattern uses standard crochet stitches and multiple colours to create a simple but effective stripe.
Worked with a minimum of two contrasting colours, I worked with 3 as I couldn’t totally decide and I wanted to do something a little bit different for this easy crochet bag pattern than I normally would.
While I wouldn’t dream of giving sewing instructions, adding a lining will improve the strength of your crochet shopper tote bag and durability.
