Easy Boomerang Scarf Crochet Pattern – Brooke Scarf

Brooke Boomerang Scarf Inspiration
The Brooke Scarf pattern is a happy marriage of the Brooke and Bridget Shawl Patterns. I love making boomerang scarf crochet patterns, I like the curve maybe a little weird but it’s true. Combining the shape and edge of Bridget with the stitches of Brooke, gives a fun textured vibe that I love in crochet.
As with all my designs this year, I chose the name Brooke from a list of girls’ names that mean journey. A longer thinner option than the original Brooke design, but still featuring the lively repeat that reminds me of a brook.

Easy Crochet Boomerang Scarf yarn & materials
To make my Brooke scarf boomerang shawl pattern I used x 1000m 4ply cake from Crochet UK for each sample. The colours I chose are Chester, John O Groats and Ryde – as shown below.

For alternative’s or ‘big brand’ yarns that you may already have in your stash, try Twister, Friends Wheel Multi, Sultan OR their single colour options from Hobbii Yarns, or a Scheepjes Whirl. I do find I need a slightly smaller hook with Scheepjes Whirls.
Brooke Scarf pattern info & tips
Brooke scarf is a beginner boomerang scarf crochet pattern featuring a stacked and scalloped edge. Worked over a repeating block that includes the puff stitch, the scalloped edge detail is worked in the pattern creating a decorative border without having to cut and rejoin your yarn.
Easy to work up and adapt, the original design creates a boomerang scarf that is a great beginner project because it is easy to shape. It also works well as a ‘movie’ or ‘favourite show type project.

Yarn: 1 x 1000m 4ply cake from Crochet UK, or 1000m of any 2 or fingering weight yarn. For my versions of this easy scarf pattern I used John O Groats, Ryde and Chester
Hook: 4mm or whatever is required to achieve gauge
Other materials: stitch markers, darning needle, scissors
