Brooke Puff Stitch Triangle Shawl Inspiration
Being a huge fan of the puff stitch, it will be no surprise that the idea for this easy puff stitch triangle shawl pattern just sort of fell out of my head. I have been playing about with different shaped triangle shawls and various stitches and this one has definitely stuck.
With a lack of crojo firmly settling in, this design was something easy to work up, full of the texture that I love in crochet shawl patterns and became a favourite about 10 rows in!
Love the puff stitch? Check out Ana Mae or Stella Shawl, both featuring the puff stitch.
Triangle Shawl Crochet Pattern yarn & materials
To make my Brooke Shawls I have used my usual combination, 4mm hook and 1 x 1000m 4ply cakes from Crochet UK. If you haven’t used one before these are 2 weight yarn and while I used 1000m cake, this could easily be worked in a 1250m version for an even more generous version..
For more info on the cakes that are available from Crochet UK, check out the blog post here.
For internationally available yarns, check out Sultan from Hobbii, or Scheepjes Whirl available from Love Crafts.
Easy Puff Stitch Triangle Shawl Crochet pattern info & tips
The Brooke Shawl is an easy shawl pattern featuring the puff stitch. The repeating rows work up quickly as this design is worked from the smallest point out – the longest rows are at the end.
A great tv project, this design gives lots of texture and is a great option for gradient, striping or single coloured yarns.
Working the edge alongside the main body of this pattern means this make in a cake project is also great to work on the go.
As usual gauge is not an important factor, clear stitch structure and a decent drape are more important.
