Looking for an easy one skein rectangle shawl crochet pattern? Minerva is a beginner one skein wrap with an easy repeat that is easy to adjust. Read on to find out more about the pattern and how to make your own Minerva.
Minerva McGonagall is one of my most favourite characters in Harry Potter. Maggie Smith is just epic in everything but this character stands out and so when choosing stars to name my designs after for It’s A Wrap, and the name for this easy one skein rectangle shawl pattern, this was one of the easier decisions to make.
One skein rectangle shawls are easy to make, and wear and so feature heavily in the book. This design uses an easy to repeat pattern with standard crochet stitches to create a semi solid rectangle shawl that will work well in multiple weights of yarn.

Minerva easy rectangle shawl yarn & materials
To make my Minerva one skein rectangle shawl I used my usual 4mm crochet hook, this time from Bowltech Crochet Hooks, and 1 x 1000m 4ply cake in Chippenham from Crochet UK. Although I try not to let colours influence the names of my designs, this is a little bit. Green and indeed the Slytherin colours are some of my favourites and are probably responsible for the immediate association with Harry Potter when working on this design.
This cake is 60% Cotton, 40% Acrylic blend of unplied yarn. To find out more about the yarn and the options available from Crochet UK, head over to the review post here.

Easy one skein rectangle shawl pattern info & tips
Minerva is a beginner one skein wrap pattern that features an easy to remember and work up repeating pattern. Using shells mixed with solid blocks this semi open easy rectangle shawl crochet pattern is lacy enough to be light, but work well with warmer or thicker fibres and still keep its drape.
As usual, gauge is not important in this design, good stitch definition is. Use your favourite yarn to create this easy reversible rectangle shawl.
