Today I am excited to bring a new designer, and friend, to the blog, Trista from Crochets By Trista. We design similar items, and both love texture, so I think you will love this blanket and her other designs as I do.
Free crochet baby blanket pattern
The Oasis Blanket is a beginner friendly blanket pattern that uses a simple repeat to create wonderful texture. The stitches are tight enough to not let tiny fingers and toes slip through but still loose enough to create a beautiful drape.
Finished measurements are approximately 36”x40” which is a great size for baby to grow into. It makes a nice throw for the couch if you find yourself sitting in untraditional positions while watching tv. The Oasis Blanket would also work well as a lapghan for those that have limited mobility.
Oasis crochet baby blanket yarn and materials
To make the Oasis Blanket for yourself you will need 1500 yards of worsted weight yarn; 1000 yards of Color A and 500 yards of Color B. The yarn used was Paintbox Simply Aran, available at Love Crafts, in colorways Washed Teal and Paper White. You will also need a J/6.00mm crochet hook, a yarn needle, scissors and a measuring tape.
- A stitch count is provided at the end of each row.
- An optional border is available at the end of the pattern.
- Color blocks consist of Color A being 5 sets of repeats & Color B being 3 sets of repeats. There are 5 blocks of Color A and 4 blocks of Color B.
Skill Level
The Oasis Blanket is beginner friendly. It uses 2 of the basic stitches in an easy repeating sequence. If you’re thinking that this blanket might be too big of a project at the moment but still want to make something using the same stitch pattern, try the Winter Hills Mug Rug or Buttercream Dishcloth. Both can be found here.
