Inspiration – free easy crochet scarf pattern
The Blooming Scarf was designed as an alternative to the Blooming Cowl pattern. Not everyone likes a loop scarf, some like me like to have a variety and choice. Plus, I wanted something that I could probably make for my oldest son Marcell. Something that could be universal / unisex. This free easy scarf crochet pattern works a treat for this purpose. Make it in pastels or light colours for young people or girls, darks or neutrals for boys, and multi for the adventurous and you have an easy scarf pattern that works well for anyone.
Do you like matching accessories? This easy crochet scarf would work great as a pair with the Blooming Headband. Looking for an alternative free easy crochet scarf pattern? Check out the Linen Stitch Scarf.
Yarn and Materials
This free, easy scarf crochet pattern is made in Paintbox Simply Chunky yarn. Using bulky means it works up super quickly and is snuggly – even though the stitch pattern is quite open. I love paintbox chunky as it comes in a bunch of colours – 49 currently. A bulky or 5 100% acrylic, 100g 136m/149yd balls for £2.25. Not bad for chunky in my opinion, as generally there is less than 100m on a comparable ball of 5 weight yarn. TIP – this scarf uses 4 balls of yarn. Paintbox sell packs of this, and regularly discount it making then a super quick and really cheap project to make.
