Introduction
It’s family movie on the sofa season, and this would not be complete without a super simple chunky throw blanket to warm your knees. The Marian Bay Throw Blanket is the 4th pattern in the Marian Bay series, and the second homeware design.
Chunky throw blanket inspiration
The Marian Bay Throw Blanket is a featured design on the Holly Jolly Christmas Blog Hop by Tonya Bush of Nana’s Crafty Home. Every day, for 24 days, a different pattern will be available for FREE from one of the designers listed in the image below.
This design is the natural progression of the Marian Bay Hot Water Bottle Cover, however, it also is something that I need and a great gift make. The pictured throw was a birthday gift for a friends daughter. I love rich colours, but I wouldn’t normally choose this Raspberry shade, it wouldn’t go with anything in my house! However, the recipient chose it and I have to say that I didn’t actually want to let it go.
Yarn and Materials
To make your own Marian Bay chunky throw blanket you need 12 balls of Paintbox Simply Chunky or approx 1600m chunky/bulky weight yarn. The pdf pattern includes, 2 different sizes – small throw and large throw/afghan size. Below you will find the instructions to make the small throw size.
