Overlay Mosaic Crochet Pattern inspiration

My designs are led totally by what is happening at the moment and the other designs I am working on or can see out of the corner of my eye! When I came up with the House of Cards Blanket idea, I had to make it, and quickly worked out a chain and was stitching up the Simply Diamonds Squares before I had thought it through properly!
Mosaic crochet afghan pattern yarn & materials
To make my Simply Diamonds overlay mosaic crochet blanket squares I used Paintbox Simply Aran multiple times perfecting the various shapes. Sage, Paper White, Teal, Dark Teal and Racing Green were all used as they are in my two versions of the blanket.
For size reference, and also giggles, I have made these two Simply Diamonds in Twister Solid. For more information on Twister Solid, check out the review here.
