Colette – one skein shawl inspiration
Colette is a beginner shawl made with the peacock stitch pattern. I have loved this stitch since I started crocheting and never made anything with it. Looking through my stash, the French Blue Twirls Deluxe that I chose to make this design just needed to be used for this stitch. I always choose what I make by letting the yarn tell me what it wants to be and I tried a couple of other things when I took the cake to London with me recently, but that didn’t work out.
Colette is my oldest niece and I can’t explain why this shawl reminds me of her, it just does. I don’t claim to have a very scientific or logical naming process, but I am sticking to my theme and naming this free one skein crochet shawl pattern.

Colette one skein shawl yarn and materials
Twirls Deluxe is one of my favourite yarn cakes. I love cotton yarns and have been hooked on these gradient cakes since I first discovered Hobbii. For this one skein shawl pattern I used French Blue and slight departure in colours for me – I usually go with a tonal ombre or blues but I was drawn to this cake and it did not disappoint me.
For alternative yarns from Hobbii try Twister, or Twirls. If using a Twirl they are shorter in length and so will result in a scarf length project.
