Ana Kite Shaped Shawl Inspiration
I can’t lie. As I was stitching up Adira the idea that this stitch pattern would work for a kite shaped shawl immediately popped into my head. I love the Ana Mae Stitch pattern and it was such a close match to begin with it seemed rude not to. So I did.
You will notice that this has a shaped element to it, as it was designed alongside the patterns included in Summer Shawls. In the end this lacy kite shaped shawl was not included in the book as there is already another of the same shape.
Lacy Kite Shawl yarn & materials
To make my original version of Ana I used an old favourite, Hobbii Delongh Star Ruby from the Sultan line. This white, pink and purple fade is gorgeous. Just enough pop to compliment the stitch pattern in even blocks of colour.
To make my second I used Scheepjes Whirl Turquoise Turntable, as this slower fade is an equally gorgeous version of this kite shaped shawl, however at the time of writing the original is my favourite.

Ana Lacy Kite Shawl pattern info & tips
If you are familiar with the Ana Mae pattern this version will be a breeze. If you are new to this design, or a beginner crocheter, this is an easy kite shaped shawl design worked largely in chain spaces.
Using the Iris Stitch and Puffs over an easy repeating pattern this design grows and works up quickly and will look stunning in any colour.
As always, I used my trusty 4mm crochet hook, however this design will work well in any weight of yarn using the appropriate hook and making suitable adjustments for overal size.
